If it all gets too much for the audience at the Tyneside Cinema on Halloween , then they’ve only got themselves to blame. Over the past couple of months, people have been voting as to what is their favourite scary movie . And now the votes are in, bosses at the Tyneside on Pilgrim Street have revealed that they will be screening Stanley Kubrick’s classic chiller, The Shining on the night of Halloween. After being asked to get involved in the scary selection process, audiences responded in their hundreds, with votes for films ranging from classic horror such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween and Suspiria, to modern favourites like The Conjuring and The Descent. There was even a vote for Disney’s Bambi. But in the end there could be only one winner, and that accolade went to Stanley Kubrick’s acclaimed adaptation of Stephen King’s novel.
