Uganda/Gabon: Cranes Coach Micho Ready for Anyone At Afcon 2017 Draw Tonight

Kampala — Cranes coach Micho Sredojevic and Sports Commissioner Omara Apitta will experience first-hand the feel when the three opponents for Uganda are drawn later tonight. The two are representing Uganda at the group stage draw for the 2017 Afcon finals that takes place in the hosts’ Gabonese city of Libreville. Also, it will be the first time Uganda are participating in such an event, the Cranes having last competed at the Nations Cup 39 years ago. At the ASMG Tent in Stade de l’Amitie in Libreville, Micho will narrow his inquisitive eyes at every roll of the balls and accept whatever comes Uganda’s way. “We are now among the very best in Africa,” he told Daily Monitor before he left for Libreville, “And we are ready and respect everyone that will be drawn against us.”
Fufa Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein confirmed Micho and Apitta, who flew out on Monday evening, will be present at the event. “Delegations of the 16 finalists at the draw will also conduct a familiarisation tour of the four cities where stadium, hotel and training grounds are located for 2017 Afcon finals,” Hussein is quoted on Fufa website.
