Left-Greens Gain Support in Poll

According to a new poll conducted by Fréttablaðið, Stöð2 and Vísir, the Left-Green Movement has gained more support than any other Icelandic political party since the last poll. The poll was conducted October 17 and 18. The Social Democratic Alliance appears to be losing support.The poll’s results indicate that the Independence Party enjoys the most support of all, or 23.7 percent, followed by the Pirate Party with 20.7 percent. The Left-Green Movement receives 19.2 percent support, compared with 15.1 in Fréttablaðið’s last poll.The Progressive Party gets 8.5 percent support in the poll, Bright Future 7.4 percent, the Reform Party 6.6 percent and the Social Democratic Alliance 6.5 percent.
