Hexham A69 crash LIVE: Road completely shut after lorry and car involved in crash

A crash involving a car on the lorry on the A69 has completely shut the A69 near Hexham. Crash investigation work is still going on following the collision and the road isn’t expected to re-open until after rush hour. The crash happened between A6079 Rotary Way and A68 / B6529 Stagshaw Road , and the eastbound carriageway remains shut — it’s affecting traffic towards Newcastle. The diversion, if you are heading eastbound, is to follow the ‘hollow diamond’ on signposts, and exit the A69 at Acomb onto A6079. Then exit onto B6318 to the A68 back to the A69. People heading westbound can follow the hollow square.
